76 Grill/Headlamps on 84 Nose

I have a 76 GMC the cab and fenders are rotted bad. I picked up an 84 with a good cab and nose but I like the look of the round headlamps better. Can I put the 76 grill and headlamps in the 84 nose? I also want to use the 76 dash in the truck can I just swap the pad? Ed

I think the pad would work but the front end would take alot of work. You'd have to fab up alot of things. Best bet maybe be buy some 73-80 fenders and put them on.

Re: 76 Grill/Headlamps on 84 Nose

I thought the dash would work but was unsure of the grille headlamp swap. I only need a left hand fender and inner fender wells for the 76 nose and I found some new repo's stuff locally for $150 for all. How does the repo stuff fit? Ed

How are you at serious fabrication? If you aren't any good, it won't work, they are completely different. The pad will swap over

If it is the cheap stuff, you can make it fit (see above question), but it will take some work. Otherwise I have found Goodmarks improved stamping to be a close fit based on a friend truck that got some from me.
