front door pillar support - re-enforcement

I am working on the rust on my cab, I bought the front door pillar support like the one pictured. My question is that there is a support re enforcement piece that bolts in behind the brace, where can I get them? or do I have to custom make them?

Re: front door pillar support - re-enforcement

you are correct, the fender bolt goes thru the large hole and also goes thru a thick re enforcement piece. that re enforcement piece also gets bolted in with the two bolt holes that go thru the rocker backer. The re enforcement piece is the one I am looking for.

I made mine out of 12 ga;and 2" in freeze plugs and they are very worth the trouble . Really strengthens the support and the fender mount.

Re: front door pillar support - re-enforcement

thanks, I was looking at the piece that was rusted into the pillar section I cut out and was thinking along the same lines. It would not be to hard to fabricate one with a chunk of steel and some washers.

Here's a link to an old post of mine with pics, might be able to score some from a junk cab. I was missing one, got missed on the assembly line I think.
