Master Cylinder - will it work with my truck?
Well I had another thread going for this, but doesn't seem like anyone's looking at it. I just picked up a crossmember from a '90 3/4 ton burb, and just started cleaning it up so I can swap it into my '69 C20. Also picked up a master cylinder out of (I believe) and 80's pickup or suburban, but not sure if it'll work or not. I know the bracket will need to be redrilled or modified, but that's not a big deal. I just want to know if the stroke of the 'push rods' inside the thing will be the same as what I have now. Basically, just looking for insight as to whether I can use it or not, and what you guys think it's out of. If you think I should keep looking for another, please let me know... Maybe no one on here can answer, but if you can, THANKS ALOT!!

Re: Master Cylinder - will it work with my truck?
and here's a link the the other thread I had about the swap. I'm planning on consolidating this info all together when I'm done to try and put together a very clear writeup for others in the future:

Re: Master Cylinder - will it work with my truck?
I have one out of a vette for four wheel disc brakes. The problem I encountered was that the shaft coming out of the master cylinder itself is 5/16 inch too long. I ended up putting shims between the master cylinder and the power booster. Works fine now.

Re: Master Cylinder - will it work with my truck?
so that's what I'm wondering... is the shaft the same length? Anyone know? I will of course measure it during removal/installation, but if someone knows off the top of their head it would save me some time. Thanks...

Re: Master Cylinder - will it work with my truck?
I had a '77 on my truck at one point and had to lengthen the rod going to the pedal. I just used another rod with a coupler nut. I'm guessing you'll have to do something similar. Some folks just weld a short length of all-thread.
