1" or 5", it's the same procedure. I always tell you to search because the information is here

Re: body drop

Read some of those links and you'll find the answers you want. I just looked at them and found the answers to your EXACT questions within less than 2 minutes. I'm not going to tell you what I read because I personally don't feel like doing your homework for you (again).

I don't mind helping if it's something I don't know about or recently did. I'm sure other guys might chip in and help, who knows. But the info is like ... right there.

Re: body drop

sorry shifty, but I have to disagree ... there is a very big difference between a 1" body drop and a 5" body drop ... you can move body mounts around and get 1" but it's gonna take some major metal working skill to do a 5" body drop ...

Re: body drop

The only thing that bothers me is I just gave two indirect links to your answer and two direct links on how to do a 1" drop, yet it appears you haven't even bothered to look at them and continue to say - just like when I helped you extensively on the wheel thread - that I'm not helping you.

Re: body drop

Do your own measurements to be sure, but I think you can do 3/4 - 1" just by dropping the cab mounts. I did a 1 1/2" drop, & will say that it involved opening up the floor on the cab, to keep the bottom of the cab off the frame after the brackets were lowered on the frame. crazyL

Re: body drop

On the nose end, I would cut the horns off , just ahead of the steering box, dropem(aka Z). That will keep the bumper aligned with the tin. out back, there are not too many easy ways to go on a short drop. On a bigger drop(3 or more inches), you can make brackets to hang the box sides below the cross sills. I cut the bottom lip off my box, moved em the 1 1/2 for my drop, & welded em back on. Back bumper works with drop down brackets. it is truely a buch of work for that 1 short inch crazyL
