??last year for SFA in a Burb??

What was the last year for a solid front axle in a Suburban, 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton? And whats the first year for fuel injection?

I know you will all be happy to here that I'm thinking of selling my '98 F-250 for a Suburban, something like '88. I deff want a solid front axle and I would like to have fuel injection.

I'm pretty sure that the last year for solid front axle is '90.

I don't know when they started FI, but I know that '85 pickups had it, so I don't see why the 'burbs wouldn't.

I think it's 1991. As for FI I had an 1985 K5 that still had a 4 barrel carb. It might have been 1986 with the throttle body.

Last year for SFA in Blazers/Jimmys and Suburbans (1/2 and 3/4 ton) was 1991. They went to the new IFS chassis in 1992. First year for fuel injection on trucks was 1987. Some emissions exempt (higher GVWR) trucks still used carbs for a couple of years after '87, but all 1/2 tons got FI that year.

My best friend had a '85 K10 that had a throttle body injection system on it. It gave me my first distaste for throttle body injection.

Why was it on an '85 if it started in '87? I know it was an '85. Maybe someone put it on before he bought it?

91' was the last year for the GM solid front axle as we know it. I think 87' was the first year for EFI. 87' was the last year for the 208 transfer case, they then went with the np 241 w/ electronic speedo.

Many GM cars had fuel injection prior to when they started using it in trucks (1987). The '85 Blazer would have come with a Q-Jet. If your friend had one with TBI, it was swapped in.

1987 was the first year for full size trucks to have FI.
