4 speed (SM465) swap?

I have a SM465 and a 250ci in my 68 c20 and i was wondering if it will bolt up to my 307 without a diferent bellhousing?

You wont need another bellhousing... bolt pattern on the 250 is the same as the 307.... straight six isnt a bad motor though I'd consider keeping it...

You may need a different Clutch Z-Bracket too.

some of the bell housings with a 3-speed on them had a smaller hole where the input shaft collar went in. when i changed my 3-speed for a sm465 i also had to change the bellhousing for this reason.not all are this way, most do not need a bell housing swap.if you are using your current motor and not changing any of that,the z-bar & linkage will be the same. you will need a high/4speed trans tunnel in the floor board.if you do need a bellhousing the one from the 250 will work.
