My truck was lowered somewhat by the original owner and I think he heated the coils, but he could have added lowered spindles. How do I tell if the spindles are dropped or not? What do I measure? Thanks!

What you need to measure is the distance from the lower a-frame to the spindle. Easiest would be from the center of the spindle to the ground, then subract the distance from the ground to the bottom of the a-frame at the ball joint. then find another truck without drops and compare.

One way to tell is the lowered spindle will be about half way up, or centered, on the spindle. The stock height spindles are toward the end. Early Classic Enterprises' website has pictures of them so you can see what I'm telling you about. I'm betting if the actual spindle is half way up, they're lowered. check out http://www.earlyclassic.com/catalogpg11.html for photos of the spindles.
