Going to the track first weekend in April
Ok.. There is a 3 day thing going on in Sacramento the first weekend in April. Fri night is a TNT. Sat is qualifying and TNT for CMI. Sunday is the CMI event. CMI is prodomanatly compact imports, but, they will let me run in either Outlaw or their RWD class. Since I don't have a cage in the truck, I'm stuck running it off the gas.
Reason for my post is I am looking for ideas on where to pick up some. I would like to get as close to 11.50 as possible. I can't think of anywhere to shave weight that doesn't cost a decent amount of money other than maybe loosing the brake booster and running manual brakes and maybe throwing a seat in from my Camaro. Only ways I can add power, costs a decent amount of money. Another thought is to tie the first stage in to my HPtuners program. Run a few motor passes and get an idea of what I'm doing NA. Then have the cable control the hit and turn it on at a given mph. Start high and dial it back in 5mph increments until I am say running 11.50-11.60ish. I don't think it will take much. I'm hoping with my recent round of changes ect I can run 11.80-90 on the motor. I was going 12.33-12.4x @ 109-110mph with a 1.87-1.91 dead hooked 60'. Gained 20rwhp Went from a 3,200 verter to a 4,400 15x6 and 15x10 draglite from a 7x15 steel wheel all the way around Running a 215/70/15 vs a 275/50/15 in the front Running a 315/60/15 MT Drag radial from a 275/50/15 (allows me to stay in second on the motor, 7,250 = 116mph and I can rev to 7,500) Removed power steering going back to a manual box Lost the front bumper and fram horns that once held it in place Lost the heater box Any sugestions would be great. Re: Going to the track first weekend in April
Buy you a kirkey aluminum seat. They are light and comfortable with the padded cover!

Re: Going to the track first weekend in April
I do still have the 3.73's, they keep me from shifting in to third
The Camaro's seats are plastic race seats fomr Summit. So I was thinking about slaping one in. What do you think the factory bench weighs? |
