lol....Forgive me...>I was having a weak moment!! haha
However I did speak with Tracy Focht today and he gave me some insight as to what might be causing my "dead spot"...So I will give that a try first before spending too much money or doing anything drastic!! hehee

Dave,
I liked that too. I can see it now, Chris reaching out the window with a long extension of some sort, pouring gas into the manifold as he drives down the road. LOL Only thing would be you would have to cut a hole in the hood, right? ![]()

Well, I guess I'm in the minority here, but I've been running a Holley 3310 on my 84 for the last 7 years with absolutely no problems. I got it dialed in right away and I haven't touched it since (about 80k miles ago...)
I'd stick with the Holley. There is certainly nothing that Demon carb can do that a Holley can't.

Personally, I'd stay away from the BG (Barry Grant) stuff for now. From personal experience and that of racing buddies, the quality hasn't been great for a couple of years now.
I still like Holleys, but I get excellent pricing on them ![]() DJS |

I had a speed demon 650cfm double pumper, mechanical secondarys. Loved it, for the month I had it. Then it was stolen. Sure was nice though.....

Another minority here in liking the 1406. I've heard Holley are too hard to keep tuned. I'd like to see what a Q-jet would do on mine but for me to keep tuned I'll stick with the 1406

I have a Holley 4160 and haven't had any problems with it. It does sound like carbs is one place everyone definitely has their opinions about.

you know....at least we're talking about carbs......not standalone fuel management systems like "ricers"...lol I'll always take a carb over fuel injection....and i'm also quite fond of q-jets...be them stock....edelbrock...or JET tuned...I like them. Except when the plugs on the bottom leak...they almost killed me once...lol

Yeah and I hate holes in hoods, so that lets you know how bad I hate Holleys. They are very tempermental in changing weather. I just don't like them. Now for all out racing, they can't be beat, but for all around drivability, I hate them.
As for Fuel Injection, I MUCH prefer it over any Carb. Hilborn with and Accel fuel managment for me.

We all have our opinions when it comes to carbs. Mine is for Carter/Edelbrock's. I know my way inside and out of these things and hate Holley's with a passion. I just don't care for the design personally. I am very happy with my 1407 equivelant, Carter 750. You know the old saying, Opinions are like a$$holes, everybody has one and they all stink!
