81-87 or 73-80???

My buddy went after this truck last weekend,


and shot a picture of this one for me.

Based on the tail gate ( since that is all we can see... ) What year/s is it?
I am putting my money on 81-87, but i am having a brain fart about the GMC tail gate.

The shutter on the camera didn't open all the way, or we could have seen the front end....

Agreed, 81-87. It appears to have the same tailgate as my Dad's 85.

I don't know If your friend would need any mores parts. A friend of mine has a bunch of 57 parts for sale, and some 59 parts to. Down by St. Louis. PM if you know of anything he needs.

My 73 had a cargo light, so it obviously has nothing to do with determining the year. You can tell by the TG alone...unless it is not original to the truck.
