Odd exhaust tip ?
Hey guys,
My father-in-law stopped by yesterday and gave me some exhaust tips he was given. They are 2" inlets and don't appear to have ever been installed. When I got to looking at them, they don't have anywhere to attach to! They don't appear to have been cut, as the black paint is still on them and there is no sharp edge. Anyone have a clue how to mount these? Weld only, maybe?

P.S. There is no soot at all on them. Pic 3 looks shiny like it was cut, but in real life they don't appear to be!

Re: Odd exhaust tip ?
thinking weld only. I believe the company who produced them was MONZA.

They look to be the "Monza" type. Yes I would say that they are to be welded on. I would like to hear what my truck sounded like with those with straight pipes leading to them. My2cents.

Yeah. I'm going to keep ramhorns for now anyway, but was thinking of fabing up some true duals with an x pipe with no muffler and these out the back. Could be pretty badass!

Re: Odd exhaust tip ?
Yeah, they are what they call "resonater tips" and they are indeed weld on. LMC sells 'em. Ive only seen them on the S-10/S-15 catalog though....

Re: Odd exhaust tip ?
Did a little more research. All the Monza tips are yellow inside, but Hooker tips are red inside. They all have a normal mounting surface though.

Re: Odd exhaust tip ?
my tips are welded onto the exhaust pipe and then there is a bracket going from my frame to my exhaust pipe right next to the weld on the tip

Those tips look restrictive as hell to me...but maybe they're not.

Tell me those aren't on one of your vehicles CG? You saw them at the mall or something like that? Right?

Re: Odd exhaust tip ?
That is a standard weld on type of tip. I have seen a fair amount of them, like that, in a lot of different muffler shops, over my lifetime.
