ididit/Flaming River

Ive been trying to decipher what length column I need. Anyone have a stock one ( out of the truck ) to measure. Or just know what size I would need. Im looking at ididit and Flaming River. Pros - Cons? Ive done a search above and find alot of info but not size.

Thanks in advance.

Five 0 - give me 5 minutes. I've got a stock column out of my "69. Where do you want it measured. From where to where?

Re: ididit/Flaming River

you want a 35" column, thats the stock length replacement....im useing a 32" ididit one in my 68SS...and ive used both FR and ididit, IMO ididit is better..

Re: ididit/Flaming River

I have a couple new Flaming River columns at '07 prices, built for our trucks, not universal.
These are stainless steel, newly designed tilt mechanisms, with the the "truck" style appearance, not street rod.
They are much better than the Ididit, imo.
You can email/PM for details or questions.

Re: ididit/Flaming River

They all scare me a bit on price. Havnt seen what FR goes for.

I have a chrome ididit for a 69 Camero that has only been installed and then removed that Ill try to get rid of or trade twords.

I realy like the ididit but my customer did not like were the key was located. Very nice unit though. Since it was installed Im sure I cant return it.

This inspired me to get one for my truck.

Re: ididit/Flaming River

The prices of my FR vs the same style ididit are about the same. Ididit does sell some slightly cheaper models, with extra costs for features. . Just do your research and make your choice: Do an Ebay search "ididit" for low ball prices. Check CPP...others.
1. Ididit is steel not stainless.
2. Ididit has cheaper shifter arms.
3. Ididit charges extra for a indicator.
4. Ididit uses the double D shaft that requires an intermediate shaft or joint. My FR uses the stock splined shaft.
I suspect that $450 ididit column is a floor shift model, with no automatic shifter, not chrome, etc.
I choose to sell FR because they are a much better column for the money, not because they are easier for a dealer to qualify for, and I try sell them for low prices.
Compare & choose...
