Video's of my '67
Haven't posted any new pics of vids since the rebirth of this truck. Last pass before these vids was 1992. One of the other vids posted up is when my dad drove in 1985. All the rest are me. On this pass, the oil pump pickup fell off as i
was going through the traps. Weather has since gone ****ty, and we haven't been back to the track.

Re: Video's of my '67
Thanks guys, that run was on a mild tune-up. There's still more to be had when we get the barrel valve and pill adjustments just right. I'm ready to go racing some more

Re: Video's of my '67
No, it's not tubbed, so to speak. We run a 12 Bolt Car rearend ('70 Camaro) that has been narrowed slightly, I can't remember how much. The tires are 32x14.5x15 and the wheels are 15x14. The rear fenders are stock, with no mods. The bed floor was originally wood and is now a 1/4 piece of plywood. The batteries are the only other thing in the back. All of the rear suspension is stock (Trailing arms, shock mount, shocks are from Autozone). The only thing different is the mounting point at the front of the trailing arms. They are on an adjustable plate and work best at 5" lower than stock. Who needs a 4-link and coilovers?
If you notice in the video, the front rises at the hit, but falls causing the rear to unsettle. I ordered some new Lakewood 90/10's for the front and new Goodyear's for the back, maybe that will help. Also, the front springs are older than I am, I need to pull them and check their rate.......

Re: Video's of my '67
I bet if you went to a smaller rear wheel and tire and lowered the back of the truck it would help your 60ft a bunch!

Re: Video's of my '67
When we started racing this truck (1981) there were no 60' times. You were lucky to get both MPH and E.T. A smaller tire would help the short time, but the truck has 5.38 gears and needs the tire height for the big end. It's cut a 1.45 60' before we mounted the tires you see in the video. I love the throttle response of fuel injection.

I use to run a toilet on alcohol on my old camaro and it was sweet! The tires I was talking about are 33 tall just about 11.5 inches wide. Another cool thing about these is if you have 10.5 races in your area you can buy take offs with 4 or 5 runs for 150 or less a set! I would run the narrower tire and lower the truck down over the tire and it should help you weight transfer off the line a bunch!

Re: Video's of my '67
We used to run a Kinsler stack set up that was a PITA. If it was set right, it ran great. We switched to the toilet and love it. I might look into the narrower tire, they do have some 10.5 races at the local track.

Doin it old school right now. No Brake, no two step, no throttle stop. Just enough stuff on it to run.

Re: Video's of my '67
Just a small update. After setting all winter, decided to put fresh springs and shocks up front to help it launch. Shocks are Comp. Engineering 90/10's and springs are custom made for a '78 Monza (Remember it has an older Jegster front clip). Thanks again, TruckRacer! Didn't change anything else from Nov. and it went 10.90 @ 120 back to back. Third pass it ran 10.87 @ 121. Almost ready for some No Electronics brackets. Thinking about switching the 5.38 gears for some 5.14's or 4.88's to lower the RPM's through the traps. Should have some updated pics in the next few days.

Re: Video's of my '67
Best pass for me last year was a 11.26 with a 1.65 60' being the best. It pulled 1.54 60' twice. Last year the front end would rise at the hit, then fall right back down unsettling the rear.

Re: Video's of my '67
I need to get some good video of my junk leaving! to see what its doing. I am off about a tenth in sixty compared to what the previous owner did with a similar E.T.
