Working in garage + being tired = Idiot
So what are some tipoff's that you're getting tired and need to quit working in the garage? When I've got some momentum going, I don't like to stop. If that means not eating and pushing myself beyond my limit, so be it. I find myself getting irritable when I'm tired and hungry though, and then things start to fall apart.
The other night I observed myself in this situation and knew I needed to quit soon! Too lazy to find two more extension cords, so while sharing one cord with three power tools, I'll bend over and unplug the one I'm using, drop the extension cord, pick up the cord for the other tool and then ponder why or how I ended up with two black cords and where did the extension cord go!!? Then I'll drop the two black cords, pick up the extension cord and then plug a black cord back into it. Of course the tool I need to use doesn't work because, I just plugged the one I just unplugged, back in.. Then I bend down again while putting my weight on my knee and consequently, on a small sharp object, then unplug the extension cord and try to untangle the mess of cords I have going. The whole time being severely irritated!

Actually, I usually clean up before I come in and get somewhat organized, but I was building my cab dolly when I had all this mess going on and it was supposed to be a simple easy project that escalated from there.

Re: Working in garage + being tired = Idiot
I once drilled a hole in the dining room table because I needed to put a hole in some wood stock and didn't bother to put anything under it (or find a more appropriate place to drill out some stock.)
Wood putty can do amazing things.
