truck sat for a while, now the steering wheel is sticky

Why does that happen? I helped a friend move some trucks that have been sitting for a couple years and the steering wheels gets realy sticky, anybody know why?

It was like that in my truck, all you gotta do is wipe it down, maybe spray some cleaner on it...

During all the years my truck sat idle the same thing happened to mine all i did is wiped it with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol and it worked well it may take several applications and dont be affraid to use alot of it.

Just don't use any Alcohol that's greater than 70% cuz it will leave a white residue behind and will damage some plastics......Ask me how i know this!

Alcohol... it's the cure for many problems!!
