Joined the club....again.

Well, I finally managed to find a decent truck, for a decent price, and convince the guardian of the family treasury to let me get. The stars must be in alignment.

My first car many moons ago was a 1980 Chevy LWB. Seeing as I can't remember that far back, I will be picking the collective brains of the forum to get her sorted out.

Anyway, here she is.

And just to confuse the hell out of you guys, here's the air cleaner.

I know....It's awful, but funny. I bought the truck from a mustang guy.

They will if you let them. The good news is that there is no rust in the cab corners, floors or rockers. And the bed is solid.

Now if I can just figure out if my stumble is a vac leak or if its accelerator pump related.

Maybe it the air cleaner? Nice truck just a little cleaning and some shiny paint is all it needs

Re: Joined the club....again.

All is nice except that air cleaner. No one should ever do that to a Chevy. Welcome from Western Kentucky.

Any truck that is 20-30 years old can find a way to squeak some rust in here or there, just not nearly as bad as our neighbors to the north and northeast

Re: Joined the club....again.

i've got the exact same. that's crazy. an '82 lwb c10 with a ford 302 in it.
too bad too.i would definitely pitch the air cleaner cover if i were you as soon as you can. your truck, body wise, is in a lot better shape than mine. and i'm in texas too. trucks do rust down here, if they stay out long enough.
