Re: Youngin' With a Million ideas::Ratrod style

That girl looks a lot like this really nasty lookin chick my buddy used to get ragged on for dating. Lol... Sick bike shes on though.

The only pic in this thread that makes me think this is doable (well, a few on here prove its doable but was a horrible idea) is the one corn posted. It would still need a bit to make it right (an inch or 2 less chop), but its at least on the right track. Funny, when I first read the OP I thought this would be a damn cool idea. I think its possible... but just barely.

A slammed flat black lwb on red steelies and white walls is a damn hard look to beat.

Re: Youngin' With a Million ideas::Ratrod style

Anything is possible but I am not sure these trucks or the right style for that. That look is based from the design of the cars from the 20s-40s. The cars with all the curves. It's would be quite a task to pull it off and you may not be happy with your results. But you will never know till you try.

I would start by narrowing the cab a least a foot. Oh and a chop.

Re: Youngin' With a Million ideas::Ratrod style

Too me the cab has to have the right shape and character for that type of deal.
Later Chevys are just too square to pull it off with out looking dumb.
Plus, if you ever decide to sell it make sure you keep your old sheet metal.
The next owner may want the truck, but may want it back to a more stock look.
But anything is worth a shot.
Never know till ya do it.

just my opinions though.

oh puhlease... the lowered trucks are a dime a dozen, and they dont even function as trucks anymore.... so, if you're going to make them as a style statement, then why not at least be original like this guy did. it IS the true rat style, BTW.
the honest charlie "rat" style is so overpopular it's PLAYED OUT.
when my fathers age guys are building them to look like that on purpose... it's PLAYED OUT. played. played playd. can't say it enuff

my .02. i'm just a guy who bought a '69 fullsize because carburetors are easier than computers, and i have a lot of tools to carry around.

I say if it is what you want to do, go for it. Who cares what people on this site think??? It is your truck do with it what you want and don't listen to what other people say. I think you posted this for ideas and not to be flammed down for the idea of building something that you must have put more than five minutes of thought into. GO FOR IT!!!!

Just another pic of this idea, think this was posted a while ago also but....at least it would be something that would leave people thinking and not just another slammed truck. Good Luck..

Re: Youngin' With a Million ideas::Ratrod style

i think it looks good,
on an old 30's pickup

but for one of these you would have to do it total custom like that mini truck at the beginning
the rat rod theme cant be pulled off with something like streetstar said with a arms
