So I think I'm gonna put buckets in my 4x4 and was wondering what you guys think about them. What do you prefer? Also If you have buckets what do you guys have for center consules, and how much room is under them for speakers?

ive got buckets in my 70 2wd. its pretty nice, lots of extra room, i dont have a counsel though. buckets are much better for fun driving, you dont slide across the seat.... lol

I have Acura buckets (sp?) installed by the PO, my son.
No sliders, permanent mount.

No console; just a BIG open space between the driver's & passenger seat.

Great for a small to medium ice chest when on a road rip.

thats a good idea, never thought about that. i was kinda mad bc i didnt have a cup holder but, i can have a cooler with one right beside me!!!!

I have 2003 Subaru Outback seats with heaters built in. They're almost a straight bolt-in. Some mods still needed, but they fit very nicely.

Got mine from a 72 blazer. I used the console from the blazer also. I had to drill through the bottom of the cab to properly mount them. I went from 4 bolts in the cab to 12 bolts to bolt it all down which added 8 new holes for possible rust if the new holes aren't sealed with paint or soemthing. Now the cardboard feul tank cover is exposed and so is the metal of the cab under the rear window which had been rubbed for 36 years by the old bench. All I have is an amp under the pasenger seat but i'd bet that you could get some narrow sealed unit speakers that would fit underneath.

Blazer buckets lean forward on the passenger side only. The only difference is the bracket under the passenger side form the truck buckets. It has been reproduced by a few board members on here and run anywhere from 60-80 dollars for the bracket. I think due to the easy conversion blazer buckets are almost as hard to find as true truck buckets, although there were probably less true truck sets produced. Prices on any of the original buckets goes from 300 on the low end to 1200 for a real nice set. By the way I have a set for sale in the parts section. Excuse my shameless plug.

I think truck buckets go for more than blazer buckets. But I think truck buckets dont move or adjust. At least withe blazer buckets the driver seat has adjustment, and the passenger seat tilts forward.

the drivers side on truck buckets is adjustable, but the pasenger side is fixed. on a blazer theyre fixed from going forward/ ect but it just tilts forward.

the actual seats are the same, but the brackets are diffrent.

So... the blazer buckets are both fixed from sliding but the lean forward: and the truck buckets; the driver seat slides and the passenger is fixed...no lean or anything? I'm confused... some pics would be awesome!

NO on both the blazer and the truck the drivers side slides forward. The difference is the passenger side. On the truck it is fixed on the blazer it tilts forward to allow passengers to get into the rear seat.....Hope that helps without pics.

I had 79 Trans Am seats in my 72 for years. Made my own console out of wood, with cupholders, fold down storage, etc.
I put 6x9 speakers in the sides of the console.
Swapped 'em out for a 88+ bench a few years ago. Kids, the ol lady.....ya know....gettin old....LOL
