454 TBI Air Cleaner and spacer
I want to change my TBI air cleaner out for an open element type, any one know what base to use drop or flat? I'm thinking flat, also do the 1" aluminum TB spacers work as far as performance and or gas mileage??
I've been searching but there is not a lot of info out there for the TBI 454 Last edited by zombiescustoms; 03-22-2008 at 06:02 AM. |

Re: 454 TBI Air Cleaner and spacer
I don't know about yours, but on my 91 TBI motor, I put a standard 14" K&N chrome filter unit with a K&N 4" tall air filter on it. It was a unit with the slight spacer design in the bottom plate and I removed all of the dang factory spacers. I routed the oil breather tube to the bottom of the filter like the older trucks are done.
