My ring of bling: Repainted the air cleaner
The only thing left ugly and unpainted on the engine I got... Was the dirty old air cleaner. So, I decided to paint the sucker up!

I've been waiting to do mine...but mine will have to be "BONE" stock. I like what you have done. Motor looks killer too...nice job!

Re: My ring of bling: Repainted the air cleaner
I was thinking about leaving it all black (the air cleaner is not original to our trucks, but who's gonna know!). But I dig some paint on the thing.
May, if I feel confident enough, do a chevy Bow-tie on the center. Not sure. |

I like that a lot....Go for it with the bow tie.....you could always sand it and repaint if you don't like it.

Thanks guys on the compliments. Anybody know a place to cheaply get a set of those Chevy 350 stickers that were on some other Chevy OE air cleaners? |

Re: My ring of bling: Repainted the air cleaner
I said the same thing last week to my dad:
"Shoulda painted this all when we had nothing in there" Might do it when we do some body work to patch the rust on the a-pillar. Do the paint on there, and pain the engine bay at the time. |

Re: My ring of bling: Repainted the air cleaner
You can remove the inner fenders without removing anything else. Just take the wheels off, undo all the bolts (make sure you get all of em, a couple are tucked away), then pull em out. Once out, the firewall (the sides, at least) are pretty darn accessible.

Hmmmm, didn't know that.

Re: My ring of bling: Repainted the air cleaner
your time would have been better spent making up a solid metal fuel line from the pump to the carb to save you from a fire down the road

Will do when I have the materials and tools.
Doesn't matter too much when the truck isn't close to the road right now. |
