Re: Radiators

I ordered mine from a gentleman on E-bay. I had to ask him for the original radiator (copper style), I think it was $300? heres a link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ALL-A...em200207532574 Or LMC Truck carries them from $240 to $400 and classic parts of america carries them for about $325 to $375. I wish you the best of luck. I'm very happy with my radiator.

Re: Radiators

Has anyone bought from either of these large vendors on E-Bay?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4623332300

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7931165359

Both sellers have good feedback and both look like they might be the same radiator.

Re: Radiators

Try your local swap meets. I bought one from an actual radiator shop at a swap meet in Kansas City last fall. They were in town from St. Louis, MO. I paid a little over $200.00 and it was an original Harrison 4 core radiator, complete with new 180 degree cap and pet cock.

I can not remember the name of the company out of St. Louis, but you might try doing a search on google.

Also try:

www.oldchevytrucks.com
www.bowtiebits.com
www.lmctruck.com
www.classicparts.com
www.impalas.com

as well as many others that offer aftermarket parts for the 4-5-6 Chevy Trucks. You might also post in Parts for Sale and I will give you some information on a good used factory Harrison 4 core radiator.

Good luck with your search and I hope this information is helpful.

Thats where I got mine too. Just finished installing it. It fits perfectly. Its a little thinner than the 4-row I pulled out so I just zip-tied some pieces of rubber to the top mount and it is snug.

Re: Radiators

Well I picked up a nice Aluminum one from Summit for $165...

It's a USA piece, and looks really nice. Althought it doesn't have a tranny cooler.

I haven't had time to install it yet, though.

If you want I can check with one of our vendors and see what kind of deal I can come up with. If you are interested, what's the specs? In put, out put size? connected engine? year of truck? I have never done a radiator in the year range you have listed so I'm not sure how much info they will need to find the right part.

Re: Radiators

I bought a new Modine from a local radiator shop for $240 and installed in my 64 C10. My brother-in-law liked it so much he bought one for his 65 C10. It's a V8 radiator though...sits on top of the fram rails, not between them, so it sits a little higher and requires the V8 upper mount, which I found at a Super Chevy swap meet. The radiator does have provisions for a transmission cooler.

If you are going to go with a 700R4 you should have a tranny cooler even if most say they have not had a problem with just an external. It is the long run that will get you. Summit now makes that tranny you have with a cooler for $209 and you can return that one if you have not try to mount it yet even if it has been over 6 months. Tell them you would like to do an exchange and they will probably do it for you. I think it would be this radiator. No pictures though. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
