Been removing the emission stuff on our 84 recently. I had to rebuild a carb for it and do away with the egr, then came vacuum lines, and so on and so on. The latest was the smog pump and air tubes from the manifolds. Big difference in looks I think.

yea long tubes and duals later on, maybe rebuild and cam or might leave it alone for now. Needs some new valve seals and valve cover gaskets, slight oil leak and oil burn on start up.

DEFINATELY paint underhood or at least I want to.

everybody says bigger air cleaner, well that was lesss then half the price of a cheap big one and I had to have something and not be broke.

I think I'd take a can of degreaser to that engine, hose it down at the car wash, and shoot some paint on it, make it look 10x better immediately!

I also agree with the bigger air cleaner, but won't judge ya for trying to save a few bucks

we already did hose it off after some gunk at the car wash, and that's what you see in the after pics is after gunk and a pressure washing.

What was you wondering and maybe I can answer it.

I don't think it got more hp but I'm sure it probably did, less darg on the motor not using the smog pump, since it's belt driven, all the parts saved some weight maybe 20-30 lbs or more?

I'd say to take full advantage I need headers and duals lol, since it's manifolds and y pipe into single 3 inch then dual 2.5's out the muffler.
