pics of my 67 project
Here are some pics of my 67 C10. It's definitely a work in progress and I hope to finish it this year.
I'm going to change the interior a bit because the yellow isn't my new color. I plan on going with the teal green like the truck on my avatar so black is what I'm looking for. Tell me what you all think of my 67. Last edited by sleric77; 03-21-2008 at 02:49 AM. |

Re: pics of my 67 project
It's a nice looking truck, but it's got the 70-72 front grill and a 68 and later bed, so it's going to confuse people a little saying it's a 67.

Re: pics of my 67 project
nice truck dude --- i agree, black would look the best with the green, but you know, a beige or buckskin would too now that i think about it.
You could get some houndstooth inserts for those seats to give it a little "something old/something new" feel, because with that LT-1, that seems to be the theme of the truck

Re: pics of my 67 project
Nice project. I am also entertaining the idea that it is not a 67. The large rear window kinda gives it away. If it is titled as a 67 then stick to your story.

Re: pics of my 67 project
According to the vin # it's a 67, but it definitely looks like a 71-72 with the honeycomb grille. This truck belonged to a friend of mines dad who died of cancer just after he sold this truck. Now the son and I are going to fix it up. The truck has changed hands a few times but I was blessed to get my hands on it. About the console I didn't build it but I can find out who did and get back with you. THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS .

The interior is very nice. What seats do you have? and do find out about the center console, I would be interested in one!

Re: pics of my 67 project
67-72 all I can do is go by the vin # on the driverside door . The seats come out of a 96 grand am but I'm going with some more seats out of a 98 silverado. I have to change my shifter to a 4 speed automatic since I just had the 700R4 installed. Doing that I'll change the location of the shifter to make room for the underdash a/c unit. So I'll get with you on the console.

Re: pics of my 67 project
Yeah, looks like a '72 to me too. Too many parts scream later model than a '67. Maybe they used a door from a '67? Like was mentioned before, I would check the frame VIN. But as long as it's in the '67-72 group, it doesn't really matter!
Like was mentioned before, I'd be driving that thing and enjoying it as is!

Re: pics of my 67 project
Looks like the two side that are black were made with plywood or most likely mdf board..then for the top that looks like its simple fiberglass smoothed and painted...pretty easy to build

i know im getting old but it looks like its upholstered loosely and there are screws through it. yeah, it can be done pretty easily, you are right.

Re: pics of my 67 project
i couldnt really make out the top all that well but your right...i think they just color matched the top of it to the door panels...i think those screws in the top are related to that gauge in the top tho...i think theres an internal brace under the panel for the weight of the gauge and because of that it probably is made with mdf...its not bad job tho
