do i have to modify my bed
how low can i go with a static drop before having to do bed modifictaions. can i get away with a 5/7 drop with just a c notch

You will be ok with just a c notch and no other bed mods.

im going to c notch my dually tonight.. worst case u might have to cut a hole in bed to clear pumpkin.. but u can build a cover box.. i doubt u will need that just keep that in mind.

yeah that what i was worried about and it also seems like doing a 6" drop in the rear even with a c notch it doesnt give the suspension very much travel before it hits the frame
