1986 first year for one piece rear main seal?

My dad is giving me a 350 out of a 1986 Chevrolet truck. I haven't gone up to pick it up, or even to look at it yet but I'm thinking that it will have a one piece rear main seal.

I want to build this one into a 383 and want to order the right crank for it. I found a one piece rear main seal steel crank for $170 shipped, but before I buy it I wanted to make sure that I was correct in thinking that 1986 was the first year for a one piece seal. Thanks guys. ...Joe

I think 86 would be a mid year production for the one piece seal. Could probably be either or.

86 was the first year for the 1 piece main seal and also had a external weighted flexplate

It was also the last year for the 2 piece. 1986 was the transition year and came with both. My 86 has the 2 piece seal.
