almost finished LWB/SWB conversion
I cut the 14" section out and welded the frame back together. all thats left is the rear 6" cut.
if anyone would like, i could post pics and do a write up on the conversion, maybe a little more detail than the other conversion writeup's out there? lmk if there is any interest...

Re: almost finished LWB/SWB conversion
well, one thing i did different from the other conversion: he said to measure 6" back and mark it and cut the 14" section out. I went a little further (cant remember but ill post it in th ewrite up) so that the gas tank brackets will bolt up to the stock holes. also the frame is the exact same width where i cut and welded it back together. where as 6" back from the cab its about 3" wide and 14" back from that is only about 2" wide. also, instead of wrapping a piece of steal around the outside of the frame im going to use a "fish plate" and weld in a patch inside of the frame. it will not be noticeable and it may be stronger....? i already had 16gal tanks, but i have to cut the pipe on the filler neck.
ok, im just going to do the write up, i already wrote to much hahaha... ill keep you guys posted. and some pics soon!

I would be interested in your writeup and pics, and would like to post them on 73-87.com. PM or E-mail me if that sounds cool.
