Sold my 85, bought an 86

My 85 had a bad valve, carb so it wouldnt pass smog and the interior was pretty rough too. I wanted to use it for a work truck but the lift 4 spd made it kind of difficult also. I was at a friends house and he mentioned his friend had an 86 with a brand new crate motor that had just been sitting for the last couple years the he was looking to get rid of so I put my 85 on craiglslist and sold it and bought this 86.

It's got a jasper racing (not sure what this is, I though jasper was sold at checker) crate motor with under 300 miles! interior is fairly decent, ac blows cold, th 400, it just needs some tires and a couple bed sides and it will be sweet truck. Took a little time and buffed it out and it made a HUGE difference. Anyway here are some pics of the 85 I sold and the new truck

Also, anybody ever seen manifolds like these before? The guy I bought it from said only 1300 trucks came with these manifolds?

I have seen those stock tube headers before. The only ones I have seen them on are on heavier duty optioned 3/4 tons and 1 tons. It should also have factory dual exhaust without catalytic convertors. Unless its been replaced.

Thats a pretty sweet looking truck for sure. Glad to hear that it all worked out with getting rid of the other one and getting the new one.

Your right it does have dual exhaust and no converters. Wonder if I'll have a a problem passing smog?

I wouldn't think it would be because of the lack of convertors. Your truck is probably a heavier duty 3/4 ton. Emission testing should have a higher emission limit for it.

yeah sounds like it has the same exhaust found on alot of farm trucks here. IT was original to them so when they got smogged you could not get crap for not having them. Good looking truck you got there!
