Front shocks? Is It needed?

Is anyone running just air bags on their front suspension? I was just thinking if front shocks will make any difference when i do normal driving and especially bumps on the road. Right now, im just riding on just the bags itself....If I add shocks will it make a difference? I'm not sure if this is a stupid question i should be asking either...lol

Re: Front shocks? Is It needed?

I can't imagine running w/o shocks. They dampen the natural oscillation of the springs (bags) for more consistent movement.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Shocks are a functional requirement for the suspension. The air bag controls the 'spring' of the suspension, the shock controls the rebound of the spring.

Ok...I guess i see your point. However, the ride isn't that bad w/o the shocks (kind of, but i can always improve). Well, I bought the shocks over the weekend and i will install them tonite when i get home.

Well every single vehicle on the road right now has shocks installed. Do you think they have them for no reason?

You might be able to drive w/o them, but the first place you'll notice the difference will be w/tire wear. W/o a decent set of shocks, your tires will quickly show signs of 'cupping' on the edges of the tread as a result of the excessive bounce that appears when there's nothing dampening the springs movements.
