Re: Shavin door handels
As far as I know there isn't any. My doors are shaved. I have the kit to install. I've heard 20 lb -45 lbs?? Biggest worry is how & where to mount to get a straight pull. S/M patches are on evilbay.

Re: Shavin door handels
Presently I use the wing window for entrance. For fear of mounting everything and finding a huge problem. I've rolled the window up & down looking for an idea spot. But not confident. Someone responded told me 6 inches down from the VIN plate using the 8 inches cable extension?? Assuming that as a guide for the place in the door I guess. Just hate to drill holes though the door to find a better spot. Here is a pic of the doors shaved before the truck was on the road. I will monitor any responses you get.

Re: Shavin door handels
also I plan to use the factory interior pull lock rod as a release to open while window is rolled down. and trunk release remote to trigger the relay on drivers door

Re: Shavin door handels
Another factor to consider is if you go to a one piece window it might disturb the placement too.

Re: Shavin door handels
I wouldn't go less than the 45 pound solenoids. I started with 35 pound on the Stude, they soon burnt up. The company I bought them from "autoloc" later upgraded to a heavier solenoid. The stronger the pull, the longer they will last. A light pull may work fine but heat up more which eventually leads to failure. I currently have a set of 50 pounders that I will be installing. I'm tired of replacing them. It will be the third set I've installed on the same truck.

Re: Shavin door handels
Hard to think that to trip the latch mech. in the door would take more than 5-10 lbs actual pull strength. I have 40 lb Autoloc's in my kit now, guess thwy will do for starters.

Re: Shavin door handels
I belive conecting to the right spot on the latch is the trick
If your siliniod must move lots of linkage it come's at a cost of energy I would like to see pic's of installed setups on our 67-72 models

Re: Shavin door handels
I do not know anything about shaving door handles but I recently got two sets of door popper solenoids in a parts deal and they are for sale. If you are interested check the 67-72 parts for sale forum. Thanks.
