'67 GMC buy or not
I found a '67 Gmc long bed today, V8 standard, All I really wanted was the front fenders, and the passenger side fender is wrecked, the bad part is it wasn't rusted, and maybe doors, is a '67 GMC front fender different from a '67 chevy, due to the grill I'm not sure. the tail gate is better than mine, and I'm planning on smoothing it anyway, so doesn't matter about lettering.
the bed and cab are good, small back glass, but someone has cut fuel doors in both bed sides, lots of parts, and was told the guy wanted a radiator for his ford in trade for it. If someone could fill me in about the fenders I would appreciate it, and you GMC guys let me know if there might be anything ya"ll need if I do get it.

IIRC the '67 and '68 fenders are the same...
How's the grille? I can only honestly remember seeing one '67 GMC in person, ever...if that's in good shape, I'm sure you could make a decent amount of cash from someone who wants a '67 grille. (Okay, I kinda do, but I'd need a hood too and it's all way out of the budget for a long time. I won't be changing that until I get a chance to do a frame-off, and that won't happen until I've restored something else to be my daily driver. )

Oh, don't listen to Project1970..... those '67 GMC grilles are a dime a dozen!
I'd be glad to take it off your hands!

Okay I think as I had it described to me by Longhornmail all '69-'72 GMC fenders are the same as a '68 Chevy, then if you fill the marker light it equals a '67. I don't think that a '67 GMC fender is the same as a '67 Chevy fender. ???

The 67 GMC & 67 Chevy fender are identical. I would be interested in the other headlight bezel, any fender emblems, horn button & glove box emble if they are there and good.

like paul said, 67 chevy and GMC fenders are the same.
68 chevy and GMC fenders are the same. 69 and up chevy fenders are not the same as GMC...GMC maintained the 68 fenders. 67 and 68 are the same except for the side marker lights. The 67 GMC grill is worth some coin if in good shape. Esp if it is a chrome one. Most were painted white. Acording to GMC Paul (I think it was him) it is not likely to get the 67 GMC grill reproduction, the aftermarket manufacturers don't see it being profitable enough to tool up for a one year only grill. The only thing that makes the 67 GMC grill an odd ball, is it is the only year that has the GMC letters in the grill in a recessed area. All later years had them on the hood. |

Okay, one more time. If you have any year GMC fenders, they will work with a 68 Chevy. Except a 67, because of the no marker light deal. But if you have a 67 GMC, it will substitute for a 67 Chevy fender because it is the same with no marker light??? I think I got it, even if it doesn't make sense.

longhornmail,
I know what I think is cold, and what ya'll think is cold is two different things, but the last few days here it has been in the teens in the morning, and working up to the 30's, with the wind blowin it is cooold, on the other hand you guys probably don't rate your summers in how many consecitve days over a hundred degrees, we are not used to this cold down here. funny thing you probably want a good heater in your truck, I want AC..Later..John

LOL!
you hit th nail right on the head there. I spent 7 years in Tx, so I know exactly what your talkin about there. We count 90 degree days. If it hits 100, some places of buisness start to close shop. You are right about my heater in my truck...I can fart and heat up my cab quicker than that heater. |

Not to mention reduce the likelyhood of being carjacked to nearly zero!

I agree with the fart deal, but did you ever notice, when you fart, the heater kicks in, and it smells twice as bad....LOL
