I would run the KYB gray shocks....the white's are too stiff, IMO

Re: stock 1964-1966 half ton long wheel base trucks - what shocks do you run?

Heya folks... I swapped out my shocks... that was the very definition of aggravation.

The front shocks were just aggravating because of the position I was in... and because I'm 6'2" with long arms and 230 pounds... so I was whacking into everything. I got those done though.

The next day I did the rear shocks... and I cut my thumb, whacked my thumb into the concrete when the wrench slipped... and even busted the gears in a ratchet... and I broke 3 out of the 4 bolts that hold the rear shocks on. They were rusted shut good. So, I had to make a run to get some good bolts for the rear shocks.

Then, of course there was some 'adjusting' that needed to be done to the brackets so the new shocks could fit in... yeesh, all of that was 3 times harder than it had to be, but I got it done.

However, she rides nice through the turns now... and doesn't dive toward the front when I hit the brakes hard.
