Added a tilt & tach...not right, but nicer
Finally got these put in my little "Mutt" 71 SWB 4x4..
I know all tilts are black with black wheel, but I just like a little more color. I also upgraded to Houndstooth for a little more comfort. It sure is hard to get time for your own trucks when you are spending so much time on everyone else's. Little-by-little, it is coming along...slowly. I need a nice cab: '71, high tunnel, headliner, cab light...or a nice parts truck. |

Looks good Frank. I repainted the tilt in my truck the same as the cab when I redid it. A real pain to put back together but worth it. I didn't like the stock blue steering wheel however and went to an aftermarket wheel.
Got to like those short 4X4's. You would be in heaven here in southern Cali when it comes to parts. Limited rust . . .

Looks great in there. You`re not alone.I have a tilt I painted saddle. It was in an ochre truck, too! It looked great in the truck. No worse than houndstooth buckets, right? If the truck ain`t original than do what looks best.I just like to keep that GM vibe,as is GM did it.Or,just go full custom.
PM me about a headliner if you don`t find one closer.

Looks good Frank! U recently picked up a factory tilt for my truck as well, but it will be a little while before it's put in the truck. I would like to rebuild it first.

Re: Added a tilt & tach...not right, but nicer
I got to do that gas pedal. You guys keep kicking by bu@@ on that thing-LOL.
I keep thinking I can get the carpet in first. I don't just need the headliner---I need a 71 cab that is made for a headliner. I am getting closer, but still finding ones with too much rust. |

Re: Added a tilt & tach...not right, but nicer
I noticed in the picture one thing that isn`t correct. The front spring hangers were all the same color as the frame, not body color.I thought you knew better.
Well,I can`t send you a cab,so maybe next time.I sure think that ugly color sure looks good.I like all the ugly colors these trucks came in.
