Does this seem like a good deal?

http://dallas.craigslist.org/car/626190563.html

I don't really know how good of shape the body is in because i haven't talked to him about it yet. But it seems like a good deal for a truck that runs and drives and shifts smooth

Re: Does this seem like a good deal?

Im not sure how to get ahold of him because the email system on craigslist doesn't seem to work or they just never check them. I don't know why people won't put their phone number on there. If they really want to sell their truck i would think they would at least put their number on it

$840??? Why not $850 or $800? I think you should try to talk him down to at least $830!

Re: Does this seem like a good deal?

The price is definitely pretty good, but around here, these trucks are very common. Not sure where you are in OK, but I've seen some pretty nice old vehicles from up there...

It looks a bit beat, but not too bad. Have him send big pics, of the usual rust areas (inner/outer rockers, cab corners, inner/outer fender under the battery, etc.). Figure it needs those regardless.

69 is drum brakes in front. Not so great. Would be better if it was a 71/72 in my opinion.

He says the trans goes into all gears, but not what type it is. The 3 speed column shift I had couldn't be fixed with my skills at the time. I suspect it was a combination of the column shift and/or my skills though...

Re: Does this seem like a good deal?

a good deal if you want it, its all in the eye of the beholder.
put it this way, if I was near buy and had the room, (heck I dont even need the room) I would nab it fast.
thats not a lot of clams.........
