Picked this up a few weeks ago at auction, have no time for this now but its safe in the barn out of site. 85 M1009 K5 blazer, 6.2, 24 volt, 42K, NO RUST, all stock, $611.00. Of course for that price its missing the driver door, starter, both alternators, trans and transfer case, but most of that is interchangeable with the other M1008, M1028s I've been playing with, and there's always the possibility of another parts truck . . . thought I would share. Question, this truck came with originally a TH400/NP208. Are only diesels that combo, are the gas Blazers a different combo? thanks.

Seems to me, with all the "M" purchases you've made that you would be the expert on that?

Not sure if this answers your question, but I think all 1/2 ton diesels were the OD 700r4? I would think you could special order them differently, but every 1/2 ton or K5 I've seen has been either OD or manual. Except the "M" trucks.

thanks for the reply, yes that answers my question. Have never had any light duty K10s 81-87 style, had one light duty K20 with the OD 700r4, all the NP205/NP208s in HD K20s and or K30s were TH400s.

um with all these old military vehicles you keep buying..... youre not making your own branch of the military are ya?? lol

Bob,
Its not as easy as you think, other than the state auctions, you bid on line. From govliquidators you have to pay $60.00 for a SF97, fill out a EUC (End use certificate) and wait forever for paperwork. There are "buyers fees" at state and govliq. auctions. At least GSA there are no SF97 fees (yet)

I worked on a ton of M series trucks while I was in the military and all the late 80's to early 90's M1008 and M1009 with diesels had th400's behind them.
