Spent a little time with my therapist...

actually, I just went to the junkyard. I don't need any head shrinker working on me! So the day was beautiful, 60 F, mostly sunny, lots of things to pull parts off of, what more do you need? Well, maybe about 6" less mud to slog through, but still was a nice day. I got all this for $100.

script valve covers

complete door, little surface rust, thats mud at the bottom, not rust.

most of a nice interior, love the color, anyone know what to call it? Radio delete cowl, and radio delete cover, dash pad, visors, vents, gage cluster, ash tray, etc

also got gmc headlight bezels, heater control, gas caps, and bag of other misc. parts.

There was one truck I remember with the power brakes, but I would think you could find that a lot closer to you. I bought a junk one, found rust in it from moisture after sitting so long, so ended up using it as a core for a new set up. Napa sells 'em for about $150 complete. You just need the rod from the brake pedal and a new seal/grommet, which the venders here sell.

Yeah, that would be cheaper to ship than to drive up here and get it

Re: Spent a little time with my therapist...

Some of those appear real solid for your area. It`s a shane they landed in the junkyard.Great deal you got there.I think that interior color is called aqua.Check out the homemade shackle on the back of that`67 GMC walk-through camper truck. Is that a "Custom" fender badge still mounted?

Not unless you are very desparate. The GMC I pulled most of this from was ok, if you want to replace just about all the sheet metal minus the hood and upper part of the cab.

The truck I pulled the door from was probably the most rust free, but was still going to need pretty much all the same work. Rust is a killer.

Yeah, I thought about pulling the badges, but they are kind of hard to get at the back side, especially with the mud as bad as it was. It was like walking around all day with ankle weights. I was feeling it last night.

They may appear solid, but they're not. Not one solid fender, I got the one good door (that copper colored one had a nice pair last fall), a couple other doors were repairable, just rusted on the bottom a little. Couple good hoods, cowls. No good tailgates or beds of any kind. When you find trucks in the yards here, you don't typically even look for sheet metal, it's almost always a waste of time.

I am now considering that aqua color for my truck. I saw one many years ago that I almost talked the owner into selling me. It was a 69 swb 4x4, he was the original owner, absolutely no rust, he just decided to keep it. I was already set on a teal and gray 2 tone, maybe I found the right shade here.

Re: Spent a little time with my therapist...

If the fender`s bad...sawzall!!!I know what you mean about ankle weights.I put siding up for years and that thaw mud is killer. That door you got is worth the $100.That was a good haul.

Re: Spent a little time with my therapist...

Looked like there were some bucket seats in that motorhome frame truck?
Wonder what those would sell for thru the yard?

Nope. But they do have some trucks there to dig through. There also some at the yard in Windom, plus Horkeys in Windom has a lot of stuff also.
