Arizona Truck

I started to strip the paint off my project today and found a nice surprise. The truck has been painted twice in 40 years and the sheet metal is straight and original.

Attached is a photo of the cab corner and rocker panel.

I grew up in the northeast and everything has rust. This seems to be a true Arizona survivor.

Looks like a great truck to start off with! Most guys aren't so lucky like you when it comes to rust. My dad and I restored a 74 Nova a couple years back and it had 1/2" of body filler in some places, and totally rusted through in other spots. We regret everyday not finding a better body to have started off with. But after many months in the body shop and thousands of dollars, its got a laser straight body with no imperfections. I mean... sure we're dirt poor now, but at least we got a great looking car!

Wow, that is awesome! That is going to save you a lot of time!

Anyone know the cause of the cab corners to rot out? I can't figure this one out on why it tends to happen.

Very cool man, as mentioned above, it will save you a bit of time..... time to do additional mods.

If you hurry you can make it to the meet-n-greet on the 22nd...lol! Even if it's not done, come hang out.

Can corners and rockers rot out because they are the lowest point on the truck, and that is where moisture from rain and snow collects.
