Re: This truck just makes me sick!

I think it's kind of cool. The video isn't all that great, but it looks like they did it "right".

I wouldn't do that to my truck, but it looks like they did a pretty good job doing it.

It would look really cool pulling a '59 Impala that had fender skirts on it.

Re: This truck just makes me sick!

not my thing but it's not so bad, made me think of when i was a kid there was a very fast 61 ford lwb in town with fender skirts. way cooler than laying rockers on 22s with one piece windows and a computer controled power plant

Does "fully built" mean he didn't have any bolts left over???

Apparently.....LOL. I'm thinking that "fully built" is the 3/4 cam of this era.

I don't care if every small block ever made was a 350....why do we have to hear about the 4 bolts? I have heard guys say that, when I know that they have never had their engine apart. Plus the fact that the phrase is thrown in like it somehow makes a difference in performance or that it is some rare thing like "fuelie" parts from the 50s.

Yep, 'Corvette Engine' !!!!!!! Probably one of those ultra high output, 160 horse 350's from like 1980.

OH but its got a "fully built 4 bolt main 350"

Its got a "fully built 4 bolt main 350" as opposed to the hundreds of millions of "partially" built 4 bolt main 350s. I wonder of its got a 3/4 race cam. HAHA If anybody can tell me what a "fully built 4 bolt main 350" is, Do tell. Also whats a 3/4 race cam? I think the paint and body guy should have left the design work the the guys at GM. Just being mean

Re: This truck just makes me sick!

Well,.........

He does have paint and it does run.....Which is futher along than a lot of us are at this point! It's a pretty nice truck that we'll all probably remember...although we won't necesarily like everything about it.

Edit: Did you see that grin on his face?

That's what its all about guys! Rock on!

EFI engines are the future. However, I do believe laying rockers on 22's (24's, 26's, 30's or however big they end up getting ) is this generation's Pro Street cars and trucks. In 15 years I think you will see them doing what the Pro Streets are doing now. I believe they will be considered a hacked up classic (although technically sound and the done the "right" way) and they will 10,000 on Ebay getting relisted over and over not ever coming close to the asking price. Times, styles, and fads change and that really is a risk any builder takes when you so heavily alter a vehicle. The simple fact is, given enough time, the ones with slight upgrades and good upkeep will always be worth more. So how you define cool or uncool depends on the time frame in which you are talking. Laying rockers on 22's are cool to a lot of people now, but aqua and hot pink striped "Heartbeat" motifs and Hammer wheels were cooler than the other side the pillow 15 years ago!
