Viper Alarm System --- anybody using one?

I have a Viper 1000 that my son had installed when he was in Sacramento. I have no idea what the control module looks like or where it may be mounted. I have issues with it in that the doors may/may not lock or unlock; the right turn signal flashes fast (like a bad bulb is in the circuit) at times; the doors may/may not lock when the system tells me it should and the alarm may/may not chirp when armed/disarmed.

I finally got the company to send me a PDF of the installation instructions, so I have something to use to start troubleshooting the connections....I think one is "sometimin' "

But I am wondering if anyone else has used a Viper system and if there are/were any similar issues as I have.
