89 chevy 1500 for $500, what do ya think??

well i found a 1989 chevy 1500 for $500 that im thinking of eaither buying, or trading for. the deal is i have a friend that wants to buy it and then sell it for more and just make some $. well its a decent truck and i would not mind having it. i have a 1990 buick skylark that runs great but needs a oil pan gasket, and a 93 dodge dakota that runs great and drives great that i only paid $350 for that hes been wanting. i made him an offer to trade the buick and the dodge for the chevy if he buys it. i would just buy it myself but im low on cash and i need these vehicles moved anyway. the chevy has a 350/700r4. it runs great and has a good strong engine and idles fine, but when you drive it a little and stop at a red light or anyplace else it dies, he says it always starts right back up though. im thinking TPS. that sound right? it has no reverse but all other gears are fine. it has a really strait body for its age. heres a few pics, lemme know what yall think.
thanks,
John

With the tranny issue and busted window, I think I would leave it alone. As mentioned, you have quite a bit on your plate already, I would work with what you have and leave this one alone.

Hi John,

Sounds like pretty good deal to me.Depends on how much you want to spend, and how long you have to work it! You can get a reman tranny for ~$900 ( http://racetransmissions.com/store/i...th/1_25_56_110 ), and windows are fairly cheap. If you have the time, it would be awesome truck!

Heck run the the local yard and see what parts they have for it. $500 is a steal for the truck, but with what you have on your plate already I would probably skip this one.
