Re: Blazer windshield frame help!

Here's a couple of pics of my replacement that has yet to go in. Excuse the junk around it, it's presently in the computer room closet (safe from rust.)

Re: Blazer windshield frame help!

Ok, here are some better pics. The 2 inside holes on each side have a nut welded on the backside, and the outside hole on each side takes a "slip-on" nut thingy (don't know what to call that.) My measurements in the last pic are as close as I could get them with my eye and a tape measure, but should be close enough, maybe with the new weatherstripping in hand you can get a better fit. These are loaded onto my photobucket account, and it resizes them a little. If you want the fullsize pics, PM me your e-mail address and I wil send them to you.

If you need any more pics at different angles or anything, let me know and I'll get them for you.

Driver's Side

Passenger's Side

Passenger's side with measurements All measurements are to the center of the threaded portion (to the best of my ability right now.) The purple measurement is to the little corner, which shows up better in the driver's side pic.

Re: Blazer windshield frame help!

So when I take off the plate that is pictured in post #1, will my frame look like what is shown in smbrouss70's reply?

I guess what I'm asking, smbrouss70, did you weld in new nuts and add the caged slip on nut or is that factory?

Re: Blazer windshield frame help!

The plate is actually embedded in the rubber door seal. It looks to me like the pic in #1 is the plate with all the rubber rotted away.

I assume that's how it came from the factory. At least that's how it came from Frank (PICKMUP)

No problem, I know anybody on here would help me, so the least I can do is help where I can.

That is awesome news as I have new door rubber seals that I haven't installed yet - I was assuming I was going to have to do my best at making that metal piece. Never guessed it was part of the door seal!

Re: Blazer windshield frame help!

Could this part of the windshield frame be solid or does it have to have the opening??

Re: Blazer windshield frame help!

They had openings from the factory, but I don't see why you couldn't make it solid as long as you get all the moisture out of it.
