Many Thanks
I wanted to thank this site and those members for all the help with information and parts for my 1967 C10 restoration. These are parts I received from members and restored. It might seem like a small thing to many of you but when I purchased my truck it was missing all of the jack parts. Being able to obtain the correct parts and get them back onto my truck means a lot to me. It is hard to tell these are over 40 years old!
Once again, thanks to all, Guy Last edited by Guy58; 05-27-2010 at 06:31 PM. |

Re: Many Thanks
Wow, until today, I had no idea what a factory jack looked like...
Very nice

Really hard to beat this site for parts and help. Your jack and accessories look pretty sharp. I'm lucky enough to have two complete jack sets and one original storage bag. I don't know what year your truck is but if you don't have a storage bag for the handle and lug wrench I am including a picture with the measurements. On the early trucks it was made out of burlap and the later ones were a plasticized foam material. LockDoc

Re: Many Thanks
This is such a great site! Glad to see you were able to put together a factory jack.

Re: Many Thanks
Almost forgot, I know how you feel about the jack. I was overly excited when I found the missing jack hold down for my blazer on ebay, I had to have it. Long story short, I found one in a junk yard a few weeks later for way cheaper. However, I'm really happy to have it back the way it should be.

Re: Many Thanks
I just got a vacuum gauge from a friend and before I could go get it (1 week) that was all that I could think about. So when I go back to Idaho to take it out and replace it with an aftermarket vacuum gauge I see that it has a non-shift tilt. He said I can have it if I replace it with my modified Van tilt, you can only guess what I have dreams about at night. And it will be a couple months before I get back up there.
I just learned about reputation points that you can give to those that help you out with questions or parts. If you haven’t already I would go back to your old posts and give those that helped you positive points and give them a personal thanks. Go to their avatar picture below the green boxes there is a white scale, click on it and that is where you leave the points.

Re: Many Thanks
Leon,
Thanks for the bag measurements. I will be making a bag for my truck soon. Does anyone know what material a jack handle bag was made of for 1967 and where the opening was located? Thanks, Guy |

Re: Many Thanks
I agree, MOST people are here to share ideas and help each other out. Those parts look great!

There is a post on the board about it and If I remember correctly the '67 was burlap and I think it opened on the large end and had a flap that went over the end.... It may have been on the parts board or "General Discussion" forum. I will see if I can find it. LockDoc
