Door Panel Install Problem

Hope you can help... Just completed the detail work on the inner door panels on my '71. Painted both the top metal catch and the main panel. Now as I try to slide the panel back in it will not slide in far enough to line up with the holes at the bottom.

I have tried tapping it with a rubber mallet while applying pressure to no avail. As a test I pulled the metal catch off and tested fitted, they slide together fine. Am I missing something?

Thx in advance

Re: Door Panel Install Problem

With the chrome trim on top and the window crank and door handle crank you may have to bend your chrome out to fit it past the cranks.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Door Panel Install Problem

Follow up... after sleeping it off (the anger that is) I attempted the install again this morning to great success. Here is how I installed it:

1. Fit the top left corner in (as this was the only area that would)
2. Loosely installed the screw at the bottom left hole
3. Then with a towel to protect my hand I applied a significant amount of pressure (upwards) along the remainder. It finally slide in.
