This guy ran 7s all day and then dialed a 10.50 and played with me like a naked barbie!

My dad used to drag there Asa.
Dunno if you remember or not but a few years back there were some folks wanting to re-open it.

Got shut down - noise complaints (before it even got off the ground).

I don't have a lot of history on it (I'm too young), but I know people who do.
I'll see what I can dig up.

Your wife's father is right. About 19 to 20 years ago someone ran off the end of track and died. Thats when the owner closed the track so no one else would get killed. The neighbors said that every weekend the place would be packed. They had people hang around there house. Use there yard to watch the races from the bank next to the road. Cars would line up and down hwy 41 and salem valley rd. Like Orange said that some folks wanting to re-open it. Alot of people showed up at the county meeting and did not want a drag strip in there back yards. So the county turned down there permit. There use't to be someone that did sand blasting there a few years back and now a church is going there soon.
