Relocating Rear Shocks Help Needed
I've installed a Super Track Bar from ECE and have installed 6" drop coils from GMCPauls But I do not have a shock cross member (It's a GMC and used to have leaf springs - all of the brackets have been removed). Anyone have pics of any shock relocating set ups. Is the relocating kit (almost $90 bucks) really needed? Does the angle of the shocks make a difference? A little help, please. Thanks, Harry

Re: Relocating Rear Shocks Help Needed
yes shock angle makes a big difference the closer they are the upright 90degree position the more effective they are

Yes, Cdowns is correct. Go your wrecking yard and get a cross member and bolt it in. Use the ECE relocating mounts. I had to replace my shock mount cross member because it was cracked. The reason it was cracked was from the shocks bottoming out as the direct result of a botched lowering job performed by the previous owner (which did not include shock relocation).

Hey oldspowered67c10, I'm gonna be sitting on 6" drop coils not bags. Would your shock setup still work. They say the shock is best when it's closer to 90 degrees. If so, I likey. This just may work. Thanks, Harry

I cant remember exactly how I did the lower mounts but I think I just flipped the lower mount over and welded a small extension on it. Good Luck |
