Carb to TBI swap.......

I know some of you have done this... I can't seem to find a good thread on swapping from carb to TBI... I just bought a running 87 LWB to use for parts for my 84.. And I was thinking about using the TBI on one of my pickups.. So can someone please point me in the right direction to a step by step for this???

Re: Carb to TBI swap.......

just for curiosity what are you doing this to? ( size motor).. i was discouraged doing this to a 305 on my 82 as im told it wont be cost effective. what im doing will cost more in parts and labor than i will save in gas particularly with a th 350 trans

Re: Carb to TBI swap.......

If I do it... I will build a motor and it will be used with a 700r4.. 350ci and up.. I am thinkin of pulling the 6.2 outa the 84 long bed 4x4 and selling it and swapping in a SBC and all the TBI crap. I mean I will have everything.. The motor in the 87 parts truck is a 350 and it runs but it has a bottom end rattle under load. But both tanks work and everything is there to make my diesel a gas truck an TBI..
