Center Hump
I just removed my center high hump to do some painting. I'm wondering, was there a factory seal bt. the hump and floor? Was the seal rubber or silicone or? (I don't think silicone had been invented back in the day) Looks like remnants of some type of sealer, but there is too little and it's to old to tell if it was factory or something a PO did.

My 69 K20 had a rope type gasket in there when i yanked it. I don't think I used anything when I put a different hump in there. If anything, I'd just run a bead of blue silicone and call it good.

Believe the rope style gasket is what the factory used on all of em, it's your choice from here...

There is a 1/2 circle indentation all the way around it, I was thinking a foam door seal from Home Depot but I think that mite retain water, so I'll have to come up with another matrl., JAT

Thanks for the replies guys.
I should have said new primer instead of new paint. It won't have actual paint for several years the way this is going. I'll probably just use silicone to seal it. I've never heard of rope style gasket. Is that still available? Thanks

I would go with silicone, it is super cheap and you can get it anywhere.
