Smile 4 or 6 CYL springs

Did you use 4 or 6 cyl springs in your Must II suspension? Did you have to cut the springs to get the lower control arm level....how does it ride?

I've done a couple of Mustang II front clips on Chevy trucks: '56 and a '51. In each case, we ordered the spring rates according to the weight on the front of the truck. The '56 was a little tricky since it was a big block with a blower. I would either weigh the truck, or estimate the weight and work the tech person from a spring vender to order the appropriate coil springs.

I can not wt. the trk untill I get the springs under it! Right now the nose & doors are off it & it has no interior thats why I am asking for advice on what people have used. Do you remember what you did on the 51?

You can weigh the vehicle without the springs! We've put scales under jack stands, used blocks, and used shock fixtures to weigh the front of vehicles to get close estimates. For the '51, we used our adjustable shock fixtures and blocks to set the truck at ride height and weighed the front end - right at 2300 lbs. We ended up with a 500 lb/inch spring rate for that '51, but it could be completely different for your application since there are so many weight variables.

No problem. Yep, all steel with SBC, Turbo 400 trans, boxed frame, power steering, AC...
