Re: Aftermarket Calipers

did you put a cclamp on it to push the ram into the body of the rotor?

Re: Aftermarket Calipers

Did you compress the piston on the caliper? Usually a C-clamp will do the trick

Re: Aftermarket Calipers

i did use a c clamp to compress the piston till it was flush with the rest of the caliper surface, with both new pads the caliper wont fit at all the pads hit the rotor if i use one old pad and one new pad (old pad is worn to hell) it will fit on there but when u go to bolt it on the top caliper bolt is binded real bad and the bottom one doesnt seem to want to line up for the life of it.

Re: Aftermarket Calipers

Measure the thickness of your rotors...they may have mistakenly given you one that is thicker than the other. Also compare your new brake pads and calipers and make sure that they are all the same. If everything fits well on one side, then the other side should fit as well.

Are the really aftermarket or are they rebuilt GM ones?

Re: Aftermarket Calipers

I had a problem like this when I did my front end. ECE drop spindles, reman caliper, new rotor and pads. Drivers side needed a little force persuasion but the passenger just wouldn't go - there was enough space for everything to fit but the caliper had to go in at a bit of an angle to bolt to the spindle. I ended up loosing off the spindle nut to get the wiggle room I needed
