1970 k5 resto
I am starting a frame - off resto on a 1970 k5 blazer. I am looking for ideas on roll cage setups. I think this is the place to start the interior.

Maybe a bit overkill for a street queen, its not done yet, but you get the idea.

Your on CK5 to, check out MNorby's cage.
One of the nicest I've seen yet. Good to see ya back, you haven't been around for awhile. Where you at with the resto? Started ripping & tearing yet? |

Re: 1970 k5 resto
The red blazer reminded me about the last 'cage' thread...
Wasn't all that long ago, should come up when you do the search. Nice K5 Long Roof. |

Re: 1970 k5 resto
No rippin and tearin yet. K5 is still in storage. Finishing up my dad's 66 pontiac project to free up work space. I will try and post some old pictures soon. I am still researching the resto, and picking up parts as moneys allow.

Re: 1970 k5 resto
did you do all the welding and bending on your black blazer, or did you buy a kit and weld it together. either way the truck looks nice. i would drive my gas guzzler all the way out there if it meant i could get a roll cage like that

Re: 1970 k5 resto
72 blazer bogger,
I had a guy here in Richmond make it for me. I just sketched a design and he did it much better than I expected. He's actually in Powatan right outside of Richmond. The name of the shop is Brett Hamilton enterprises. Not too far from Fredericksburg, probobly an hour or so. |

Re: 1970 k5 resto
Jusblaz, thank's for the reply. Where are you located in Mi.? I'm in Marion, about 20 miles southeast of Cadillac. Getting ready to tear into this K5 again! Just waiting for funds to restart my dream resto. I think I need to fab up the cage setup before I start the rest of the project, any thoughts? Currently setting on stock axles, w/8" lift, 39.5" s. swamper tsl's, rust issues, etc. Wanting to go 1 ton, and all the way with a custom frame-off resto. Sorry for the long reply but I am really serious about this project!
