Rear bumper gaps
I asked this on another topic but it was not answered.
I just installed the rear bumper on my truck and it has almost no gap between the bumper and the tailgate. I was concerned about it but I don't know if it's right or wrong. I saw this picture on another topic and noticed the gap is much more than mine. I can't lower the bumper on my truck at all. Please don't take this question as me putting this truck down, I'm not!! This truck is beautiful. |

because the rear bumper brackets have two holes, one close to the bumper, and the second further in, you should be able to drill a new hole for the one further in to pivot your bumper where ever you want it to sit. i'm not sure, but i think there are two holes for the further bolt, so you may be able to make this adjustment without doing anything.

Not that I have even looked at the brackets myself but maybe yours are installed on the wrong side upside down? Just a thought. Not sure if it matters or can be done.

The brackets only work one way. The problem is the bumper height. I'm able to move the bumper in and out using the holes.

After looking at mine my bumper is much higher than that one.

fastom - I think I misunderstood your question in the other thread...sorry about that.
So - is my truck wrong, or what's up? It's always been this way, and noone has ever said anything... It used to have a step bumper on it, and then I put this one on it - perhaps I need some different mounts or something? It fits good though with relation to the filler panels behind the bumper. DLB |

Mine is in the same place as Orange's......does your tailgate opens and closes without rubbing against the bumper? When I installed mine it was sitting higher but I was able to lower it.

My tailgate doesn't hit, that was my main concern. The clearance is about an 1/8 of an inch when the tail gate is open.
Orange, your truck looks fine but the question going through my mind was is your right or mine. I guess it doesn't matter? Your truck looks good because the cross member is painted the same color as the rest of the truck. The cross member on mine is black. The bottom line is the gaps work on both trucks. |
